Privacy Policy
How We Handle Your Info
Effective: July 4, 2026
Who we are
This Privacy Policy covers Ghost Town Industries, LLC (doing business as Ghost Town Brewing), based in Oakland, California. It applies to ghosttownbrewing.com and the Ghost Town mobile apps for iOS and Android (collectively, our "Services").

What we collect
On the website, when you place an order
- Contact: name, email address, phone number.
- Fulfillment: pickup location choice, or shipping address for delivery.
- Age verification for alcohol shipments: recipient's date of birth (required by law; adult signature required at delivery).
- Order contents: the items in your cart at checkout.
- Payment: your card details go directly to Square, our payment processor. We never receive or store your card number.
On the website, in your browser
We use your browser's local storage to remember your cart, your pickup location choice, and product images so pages load quickly. We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, third-party advertising cookies, or any cross-site tracking.
In the Ghost Town mobile apps
- Push notification token: an anonymous device identifier issued by Apple (APNs) or Google (FCM) so we can deliver notifications you opt into.
- Notification preferences: which topics you want to hear about — new beer releases, taproom events, or store updates.
- App version: optional, sent so we can support you if something breaks.
The apps themselves do not require an account, and we do not collect a personal profile from you in the app. If you choose to check out through the app, the checkout is handled by our website (in a secure webview) and the "on the website" section above applies.
If you sign into the app as a returning customer, we associate that session with your prior orders so we can prefill your details at checkout. You can sign out at any time from the app's settings.
How we use your information
- To process, fulfill, and deliver your order.
- To send you order confirmations, receipts, and shipping updates.
- To send push notifications for the topics you opted into.
- To respond when you contact support.
- To comply with alcohol beverage laws (age verification, shipping restrictions, record-keeping).
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse of our Services.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for advertising, retargeting, or profiling.
Who we share it with
We share only what's necessary to run the Services, with providers who process data on our behalf:
- Square — payment processing. Your card info goes directly to Square; see Square's Privacy Notice.
- Apple Push Notification service (APNs) and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — delivering push notifications on iOS and Android.
- UPS and GLS — carriers for shipping alcohol and merchandise.
- SendGrid — transactional email (order confirmations, shipping updates).
- Vercel — website hosting.
We may also disclose information if required by law (subpoena, court order, or lawful government request) or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Ghost Town Brewing, our customers, or others.
How long we keep it
- Order records — retained for tax, accounting, and alcohol beverage compliance for the period required by California law (generally at least four years).
- Push notification tokens — deleted when you disable notifications, uninstall the app, or the token becomes invalid.
- Support correspondence — kept for a reasonable period so we can help with follow-ups.
- Local storage in your browser — lives on your device only; clear it from your browser at any time.
Your rights
California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to:
- Know what personal information we've collected about you.
- Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal record-keeping requirements above).
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — although we do neither.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@ghosttownbrewing.com. We may ask for verification to make sure the request comes from you. We respond within 45 days.
Age restrictions
Our Services are intended for adults of legal drinking age (21+ in the United States). We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. Alcohol shipments require the recipient's date of birth at checkout and an adult signature at delivery. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Push notifications
The apps ask for permission before sending you push notifications. You can change your topic preferences from the app's settings at any time, or turn notifications off entirely in your device's system settings. When you do, we deactivate the push token from our system.
Security
We use HTTPS across our website and app traffic. Payment details are handled by Square (PCI DSS Level 1 certified) and never touch our servers. No system is perfectly secure — if something is compromised, we will notify affected customers as required by law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Effective" date at the top and, where appropriate, announce it in the app or website. Continuing to use the Services after an update means you accept the updated policy.
